Matthew 3:14-15 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
Jesus comes to John the Baptist. John knows exactly who He, Jesus, is. He knows that he is not worthy to baptize Jesus. But Jesus clears something up for us.
He says baptize me so that I can fill up what’s right. That is the only reason that John was willing to baptize Him.
Jesus was baptized to set an example for us!
