John 21:22 Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.

Have you ever noticed how we compare ourselves to what God is doing in the life of someone else. Jesus tells Peter how he will die. Peter’s immediate reaction is to want to know what is going to happen to John.

Ok, you can let me die that way but what are you going to do to him. Jesus said, I have a will for your life and a will for his life. Why don’t you focus on what I have for your life and let me and him work on his life?

I am so much like that. I want the successes of others. I do not want their failures. I can be very guilty of thinking that God is not blessing me because I look at something He does for and in the life of another and forget to value what He is doing in my life. Do you ever do that?

God is at work in my life. That should be enough for me!

So far we have read the following books; Luke, John, Acts, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Colossians, Philemon, II John, Jude, and Revelation. Now we will read I John.

John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

As the book of John ends we find that all the miracles and stories have been written so that we would believe. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. As we learn more about Jesus the more we love Him and the more we believe Him.

By believing Him we have eternal life. We must the truths of the Word of God to as many people as we can. These truths cause people to believe!
