Dear Brethren

This short note is to thank all the brothers who made it possible for our family to go home.
Thank God for having a family as wonderful as you, I know many of you have given a great sacrifice, in these times when the economy is not stable and this makes the value of what they did for us is even more valuable, thanks for your concern love and friendship, we are very excited about this trip, to see our parents and siblings and to return to our country after a long time makes our hearts swell with joy, that still lack some months to travel but we await that day as much anxiety and emotion, as the day I hope to be in the presence of the Lord in our true home.

Through these lines my deep gratitude to you all, we love the greatest love that God gave us, thank you for being our family, God bless you and give you more than you have so generously given to these worthless slaves .

Esta Pequeña nota es para poder agradecer a todos los hermanos que hicieron posible que nuestra familia pudiera ir a casa.
Gracias a Dios por tener una familia tan maravillosa como ustedes, sé que muchos de ustedes han dado con mucho sacrificio, en estos momentos en que la economía no es estable y esto hace que el valor de lo que hicieron por nosotros sea aun mas valioso, gracias por su preocupación su amor y amistad, nosotros estamos muy emocionados de este viaje, de poder ver a nuestros padres y hermanos y de regresar a nuestro País después de mucho tiempo hace que nuestros corazones se llene de gozo, se que aun falta algunos meses para poder viajar pero estamos esperando ese día como mucha ansiedad y emocion, como el día que esperamos estar en la presencia del Señor en nuestra verdadero hogar.
Por medio de estas líneas mi profundo agradecimiento a todos ustedes, los amamos con el más grande amor que Dios nos dio, gracias por ser nuestra familia, Dios los bendiga y les dé mucho más de lo que ustedes tan generosamente han dado para estos siervos inútiles.

“What it means to be a World Christian”

The following is from “What it means to be a World Christian” by David Bryant

Step one: Have I caught a world vision?

1. Purpose: Do I see the big picture of Christ’s global cause from God’s point of view?

2. Possibilities: Do I see the Church’s potential in our generation for closing the Gap between God’s world wide purpose and its fulfillment?

3. People: Do I see the great scope of earth’s un-reached peoples, especially the billions at the widest end of the gap who have yet to clearly hear the Gospel?

4. Part: Do I believe that I, along with other Christians, can have a strategic impact on Christ’s global cause right now?

Step two: Have I kept a world vision?

1. Be: Am I willing to stand in the Gap with Christ, to unite my whole relationship with Him around His global cause?

2. Join: Am I willing to team up with other World Christians to stand in the Gap together?

3. Plan: Am I willing to design specific ways to obey my world vision and help close the Gap?

Step three: Do I obey a world vision?

1. Build: Do I take time to study the cause? Am I letting my world vision grow?

2. Reach out: Do I personally get involved in the cause? Am I helping to reach un-reached peoples, especially at the widest end of the gap?

3. Give: Do I transfer my vision to other Christians? Am I seeking more World Christians to stand in the Gap and serve the cause?

A world Christian is an informed Christian, a concerned Christian and a responsible Christian.

Pray for Celebration Baptist Church

I got the following letter from Pastor Rick Groover from Celebration Baptist Church.

Hey Bro Gardner,

Hope you’re doing well and I’m pumped about what God is doing down in your area! May we continue to see His glory together!

I’ve attached a copy of the prayer letter I just sent out about our “miracle building.” Man – it is perfect for us. We currently are in a little hole in the wall and God has been saving people like crazy. Last Sunday we covered the whole front of the building with people that have been saved in the last 2 weeks! It was awesome! Of that group the testimonies were incredible about how they were controlled by hate and now hate no more! Some were on drugs, etc and now they’re addicted to Jesus. One lady had been a prostitute. Last night she was on the front row of a Ladies Bible study at our house. THIS IS CRAZY GOOD!

Please help us pray. We have eight days to go and I am calling and writing everyone I know. My wife and I have sold everything we have to get to this point. We have nothing left. That probably means we’re in good shape now cause IT HAS TO BE HIM!

Thanks for your prayers, love and support. God has used you in my life and therefore in all the other lives I am discipling. I pray for us as the Bible says about Samson, may we see more in our last days than we’ve ever seen in our whole lives.

The facility includes a church building and a large school with offices, dining hall, large kitchen, dorm space, plenty of parking, etc. It is exactly what we need to push forward to reach more of the addicted and hurting who need Jesus. The building has been totally renovated and needs nothing! It’s mission ready!

Dear friends,

As you who have followed us know, we really didn’t start out intending to have such a large outreach to the addicted, homeless, and broken. But then again, it’s not our ministry. It’s His! And while we may not have started out with that intent God has definitely led and gifted us to move in that direction. Lives are being changed and the addicted are being saved and raised up to life again. Mommas are getting their daughters back and men are becoming productive again in society. Those that most people might call “throwaways” are now leading ministries to go back into the city and pull others out of the fire. When I watch a little girl come into church and sit with her mom who used to be on drugs I know it’s worth it! When I watch a teenage boy who doesn’t even know the Lord come and give a tear filled testimony in church about how God has changed his daddy’s life – I KNOW IT’S WORTH IT!

Friends, together we’ve done it! It’s been all of us praying, giving, and helping that have carried the work this far. And now – God has opened a great door for us that is a miracle in this area, a complete ministry facility for less than what a couple of acres of dirt would cost. The facility is only $350,000. We are approved for the loan if we can raise the down payment and closing cost of $90,000. Your gift of $100, $500, $1,000 or more will help us to get this done. IT’S TOO BIG TO MISS!

I feel like David looking at Goliath. When I look at Goliath I say, “He’s too big to defeat.” BUT WHEN I LOOK AT MY GOD I SAY, “HE’S TOO BIG TO MISS!” Well glory!!!!

Friends, this opportunity is TOO BIG TO MISS! We’re praying God will put us in this building! Please pray for us and if you can help us or know someone who can, please direct any gifts to CBC Missions marked “Mission Hope.” God promised us if we would take those nobody wanted He would send us those everybody was after. Some of you are God’s hands to get this done. IT’S TOO BIG TO MISS! Together, with the hand of God, we can get this done for His glory!

What are we persuading men to do?

Acts 18:13 Saying, This fellow persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law.

Paul was persuading men to worship God. As we witness and preach I wonder what we are trying to persuade men to do. Are we trying to get them to join our church? Are we trying to get them to pray a prayer so that we can say that we won someone else? Are we trying to be a success in the ministry that we have? Are we trying to win an argument?

Or are we trying to get men to worship God through Jesus Christ? If we get accused in the ministry of any of this then we need to get accused of getting men and women to worship God through the person of Jesus!
