The Call by William Booth

“‘Not called!’ did you say? Not heard the call,’ I think you should say. Put your ear down to the Bible, and hear Him bid you go and pull sinners out of the fire of sin. Put your ear down to the burdened, agonized heart of humanity, and listen to its pitiful wail for help. Go stand by the gates of hell, and hear the damned entreat you to go to their father’s house and bid their brothers and sisters and servants and masters not to come there. Then look Christ in the face — whose mercy you have professed to obey — and tell Him whether you will join heart and soul and body and circumstances in the march to publish His mercy to the world.

– William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army

Continue praying for Haiti. It is not over and will not be for a long time.

I am praying that God will call someone to go to Haiti!

Undeniable work of God

Acts 4:16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.

I so desperately want God to do a work among us that cannot be denied. This whole story hinges around the fact that the religious leaders have to do something for damage control. It is obvious that God is at work. They are the ones that are supposed to know God.

God isn’t working among them like this but among this new little group. They must stop the work but at least there is no denying it.

Happy Birthday Matthew

d

Matthew Young, our grandson, is turning 3 years old today. He is a perfect joy. He is always sweet and smiling and has really started to come out of his shell.

We won’t be able to be with him today but we wanted him to know that we love him and wish a very Happy Birthday!

Matthew, we love you very much! We are wishing you a very Happy Birthday! Thanks for being such a great little man!
