My heart breaks as I sit here looking at youtube videos about the Haiti earthquake. Haiti was the first foreign country that I ever visited. I remember how sweet the people were. I remember how God used that country and its people to impact my life.
As I watch the devastation and the hurt my heart is ripped out of my chest. I think of the probably thousands that will have gone to hell without a chance to hear the gospel. I think of the great need for missionaries to go to a place like Haiti and wish that I could go.
I think of Connie Anderson and her deep love for the Haitian people and how she and her husband sacrificed so much to get the gospel to these people.
I think of Ron Maggard who has worked to train national leaders and work to get the gospel to this area.
I wonder if we will pray now for God to send forth laborers to Haiti and other places just like Haiti? I ask myself why we need a disaster to feel for people all around the world? The love of God should be shed abroad in our hearts.
I wonder what more I could do to get the gospel to places like Haiti. Do you?
Most will rush in now to help the survivors and that is good. The lost however are eternally lost! That has to grip our hearts.
I wonder if God will send me someone that I can train to go to such a needy place as Haiti. Will you pray for them?
This is a great source for more information on the earthquake.
