It is not death to die

I love the following song. It is reality to those that have been born again and know it. The young people sing this in Vision. It is a great blessing to me.

It is not Death to die, to leave this weary road,

and join the saints who dwell on high,

who’ve found their home with God.

It is not death to close the eyes long dimmed by tears,

and wake in joy before your throne,

delivered from our fears.

O Jesus, conquering the grave,

your precious blood has power to save.

Those who trust in you will in your mercy find

that it is not death to die.

It is not death to fling aside this earthly dust,

and rise with strong and noble wing

to live among the just.

It is not death to hear the key unlock the door

that sets us free from mortal years

to praise forever more.

O Jesus, conquering the grave,

your precious blood has power to save.

Those who trust in you will in your mercy find

that it is not death to die.

Dad’s testimony

dad10015

Dad and his brothers were orphaned at the age of 6. Their mother died. They were raised in different foster homes, orphanages, and moved from family to family.

Dad lived much of his life on his own. He early began to live a very rough life. He had been hurt and was not happy.

Somewhere around the age of 25 he got married. He married into a very godly family. He soon after accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. I never knew him as anything but a good, godly man!

In one day the Lord delivered him from the bondage of alcohol and tobacco. All of my life I was taken to church. I knew that God was to have a very important part in my life.

My children or my grandchildren never knew of his life of sin prior to Christ except by way of testimony. God used Dad to start a godly heritage in our family.

Tonight as I write this my dad lies at the door of heaven. I was able to gather my grandchildren around tonight and tell them that Papaw will probably never wake up here on earth again but he will wake up soon in Heaven.

This will happen not because he was good but because we have a good God. It is the grace of God that makes the difference in all of our lives. He loved us as unworthy sinners. He paid the entire price of salvation.

What a God and what a difference He made in the life of my dad!

Pray for Charlotte Allen

For Vision people you will remember that we had missionary James Allen in our mission’s conference. The following email is about his mother. I got this email from Pastor Gary Ledford.

I just received an email from Dr. Phillip Allen a veteran missionary with Macedonia World Baptist Missions to Brazil and now in the Alpharetta area doing a great work reaching Brazilian people here in Atlanta.

On Tuesday his wife Charlotte, received news that she has “Chronic Lympnocytic Leukemia” (CLL)also known as that dreaded word “Cancer”. She is going to have further testing done to determine which avenue of treatment is best. I know you will want to pray for them and you may also wish to send them an email. You may email them at drphillipallen@mwbm.org.

Brethren, this is why we have this fellowship and I hope you will help us keep it strong for the glory of God.

I am thankful for your fellowship which I truly need.

Your Friend,

Bro. Gary Ledford
