  15. Missionary Frankie Sheridan put this on his blog

Mr Charles Gardner passed away sometime early this morning. Most of you reading this blog will not know him. He was a simple country man who worked hard all of his life. He didn’t get worldwide recognition for his accomplishments and was never elevated to a position of prominence in this world system. He loved His family and anyone else who happened to come through his door. More importantly He loved His Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He touched many lives and only eternity will tell of his true accomplishments. As He entered Heavens gates this morning I am convinced that many met Him there. Those that he won to the Lord over the years. Those that He influenced and inspired to serve the Lord. Those that he helped in some way. Even though this world didn’t know Him and will only in a small way recognize his passing away there were a multitude of saints who welcomed Him and glorified Him as he arrived home this morning. I am proud to say that he was my friend and one of those that he inspired and encouraged to pick my life up and serve the Lord. We will miss Him. His family will miss Him. Those that knew Him will miss Him. Even though they will not hear or recognize his name the World will miss Him for the good that he would do if he had remained. However Heaven must be a better place now that He has arrived.

  32. Dear Brother,

I was so sorry to hear about your dad’s passing. My dad went home to be with the Lord on New Year’s eve of last year unexpectantly. I discovered then that no matter how much you think that you’re ready for it to happen, it’s never easy to let them go. It’s for that reason that I have prayed for you and your family today. Please know that I’ll continue to do so in the days to come as the Lord brings you to my rememerance.

I am currently in a meeting in Sanford, Maine with missionary Todd Bell and will not be able to attend the funeral, however I assure you that I will be praying for you. THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO FOR THE CAUSE OF OUR DEAR SAVIOUR.

It will be hard for me to make it up there for the funeral on Friday and I do appologize that I can’t be there. You are in our hearts and would do anything you ask us to. Looking forward to seeing you and being with you when you get back.

Last night I used your Dad’s testimony at the YDC and a young man really got under conviction and Bro. Chris Petty lead him to the Lord.
Also I email Bro. Rick Spence and he said he would post the arrangements on the Tri State Preachers Fellowship email newsletter.
If you can think of anything else we can do just let me know . See you tomorrow night.
I’m trying to get the message out about the live broadcast. You have a much wider worldwide contact list . Please mention I wanted everyone to watch the service when you bring the message. I know God is going to use His word and the service for His Glory.
    Praying,
    Bro. Wayne

  38. I am so sorry to read of your father’s going to be with the Lord. As I reread that last sentence, I find that is not what I am sorry about. Because your father is walking the streets of gold and is in the presence of our Savior. I need to rephrase my first sentence. I am so sorry for your lose of you father, I lost my mother in January and knowing that she went to be with the Lord was so uplifting. I did not shed many tears at the funeral because I kept thanking about her being in Heaven and meeting our Lord and my father, her mother, and so many more. In the months since then there have been more tears, but they were again more for my lose of her companionship and love.
I pray that the Lord will give you comfort and grace as you go through this time of sorrow and that He will ever keep the thought of a Heavenly family reunion in the future.

  44. Brother Gardner, I just wanted to write and let you know that you and your family have been in our prayers concerning your Dad. We’ll definitely be praying for you all since he passed away. Thank God for good testimonies and the hope that we have of seeing our loved ones again one day. Most of all, thank God for the hope we have to see Jesus, the one who will forever wipe all the tears away. Every time someone close to me passes or I have to watch a family lose someone that they love, it causes me to want to preach that much more just to let death know that we have the victory! And since I’m dropping you a line as word of gratitude and encouragement, I still remember the day you came to Rest Haven and preached the message “It may be” from I Sam. 14:6. That’s the one God used to make it clear to me that He was calling me to be a preacher. I will forever be grateful for your obedience to the Lord that day, and I hope and pray that God prospers every ministry that you and your family are involved in.

    Sincerely,

    Josh Herrington
